With entries now closed, the seed draw shows many familiar names set to compete on top of a broad international field of competitors. Top-rated international visitor among the men’s are Joshua Burke, 22 (BBD) and Rafael Pereira, 29 (VNZ). Other top rank international competitors are, Jeison Torres 31 (CRI), Simon Salazar, 27 (COL), Daniel Olmos, 30 (COL), Angelo Bonomelli, 28 (ITA), Jose Lopez, 20 (VNZ) Magnum Martínez, 45 (VNZ). Among the women’s international visitors are Yulissa Matamorros, 18, (CRI), Ornella Pellizzari, 32, (ARG), Dominic Barona, 28 (ECU), Anali Gómez, 34 (PER), Kayla Durden, 26 (US), Molly Kirk, 19 (US), Emili Gussoni, 19 (ITA), Lily Pierce, 18 (GER), Jazzmin Bokola, (HWI), Autumn Hays, 20 (US), Brooke Young, 18 (US).

The current forecast for the 35th Edition Corona Pro this weekend shows on tap for Middles a 4' to 7' swell with light offshore southeasterly winds. The contest will decide the 2018 – 2019 Corona Pro Circuit Champ and will reward competitors with over $45,000 total prize purse for the Men's and Women’s divisions on an equal gender paid format.


On the Women's side of the draw, Tiarah Blanco, 22, and Chelsea Roett, 25. both returns to compete, Blanco, from PR and US resident return after winning the first leg at Middles, Roett won the second leg at Domes. With the season's final rankings to be decided this weekend, Alexis Engstrom, 28, from PR holds the lead over María Kuzmovich, 34, (PR), Liza Cabán, 27, (PR), Cassidy McClain, 24, (US). Also still in the running for the Women's title are P.R. locals Amy Murphree, 34, Havanna Cabrero, 20 and Jolari Carreras, 21.

The current lead on the Men’s rankings is Rafael Pereira, 29, of Venezuela with 4,422 pts; followed by tour veteran Brian Toth, 34, of Isabela Puerto Rico with 3,786 pts. Rafael placed runner up when defeated by Josh Burke on the first leg at Middles last October 2018 and claimed the win at Domes on the second event of the three events circuit, while Brian placed a 3rd on the 1st leg and a second on the stop #2 at Domes last March 2019. Rafael has won one edition of the Corona Pro Surf Circuit and is one of the most successful Venezuelan surfer, Toth is a five-time champion of the Corona Pro Surf Circuit and have won 11 events. The top ranked surfers on the current APSPR ratings is packed with a field of local world class competitors like Alejandro Moreda, Darren Muschett, Mauricio Díaz, Ricardo Delgado, Joe Suárez, Ricardo Lucke, Rolando Montes, Dwight Pastrana among others, some of the top international talents are Joshua Burke, BBD, Magnum Martínez, VNZ,  Angelo Bonomelli, ITA, Jose Lopez, VNZ, all to compete in the Middles event to contest the championship.

The event will be broadcast live. Surfing fans who are unable to attend in person at Isabela this weekend will once again have the opportunity to follow the action online.
